The most popular alcohol in Brasil and the basis for the national drink, the Caipirinha.
A clear liqueur distilled from fresh sugarcane juice.
Often called the Brasilian rum, the difference being is that rum is usually distilled from molasses.
A pleasant sweet fragrance to it.
When I saw fresh pineapple at the  market I knew it would be the perfect coupling.

Cachaça + Pineapple = A Match Made in Heaven
Pineapple Caipirinhas (with photos and recipe) to follow in a week or two.
