Jim and Tonic - A bitter kick to a Gin and Tonic

While spending an afternoon with Ellen M., renowned actress, wife and mother, and a damn delightful dame,
she provided me with her family's signature drink.
A nod to her New Orleanean homestead and an homage to her lovely brother Jim.
Deceivingly simple but aren't most perfect things?

Into a tall glass, filled with ice, (I used nice oversized cubes),
add two ounces of Gin (so many Gins, so little time)
and a good dosing of Peychaud's Bitters.
Finish off with tonic water (the best you can afford).
Give it a stir and a twirl.
Garnished here with a lemon twist and Star Anise, to mirror the flavor notes found in Gin.

Here's to you Jim!
