The Honeybee Buzz - Rooibos Tea Vodka, Barenjager, and Honey Cocktail

Spring is upon us.
The flower bursts, the explosion of pollen, nature's gushing adolescence.
The birds have returned, the trees are budding, and the bees are buzzing.

As it happens, this week is National Robotics Week, so it seemed an easy task to find inspiration for the Honeybee Robotics Corporation Event Cocktail Punch.
Honeybee Robotics was instrumental in creating
the robotic arms for several of the
NASA Mars Missions.

Recipe for one Cocktail or for a Punch
2 parts Rooibos Infused Vodka*
1/2 part Bärenjäger Honey Liqueur
(70 proof liqueur from Germany, and not overly sweet, simply heavenly)
1 part Apricot Nectar
1/4 part meyer lemon juice
1/2 part Honey Syrup+ (or to your desired sweetness)
Place all the ingredients in a shaker. Fill with ice, shake and strain into an ice laden old fashioned glass
if making this for multitudes, place the ingredients
into a bowl with a large berg of ice (made from Rooibos Tea) and top with sparkling water, if you like a bubble.

* Place in 4 teaspoons of Organic Rooibos Tea (easily available in Health Food stores as well as Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, etc.) and three pods of Cardamom into a 750ml bottle of decent but not top shelf Vodka. Let steep for twenty four hours and then filter through a strainer.
+ Mix two parts honey(something tasty and local if possible) and one part water in a pot and slowly heat and stir until the honey has been incorporated.

Spring has sprung,
Da bugs have come.

This is going to be the most talked-about part of the NYC National Robotics Week celebration. No small feat to upstage the NYPD Bomb Squad and flying quadcopters!
